How to Enable & Download Live Captions in Google Meet
Enabling Live Captions (Real-Time Display)

Join or Start a Google Meet: Enter your meeting session.
Turn On Captions: Click the "CC" icon or the "Turn on captions" button in the bottom toolbar.
View Live Captions: Spoken words will appear as real-time subtitles at the bottom of your screen.
Turn Off Captions: Click the same button again to disable captions.
Important: Live Captions Are Not Downloadable
Google Meet’s built-in live captions are only for real-time display and disappear after the meeting. They cannot be saved or downloaded automatically.
How to Save a Transcript Instead
If you need a transcript, you can:
Record the Meeting (Google Workspace Required): If your account allows it, recording the meeting will save both video and audio, which can later be transcribed using third-party tools.
Use a Third-Party Transcription Tool: Apps like Otter.ai, Fireflies.ai, or Meet Transcript Chrome extensions can capture and save spoken content as text.
Manually Copy Important Captions: If needed, you can manually take notes or screenshots during the meeting.
For saving captions, using a dedicated transcription tool is the best alternative.
